Autumn Term 2020

last updated Thursday 10th September

What are the term dates?

Saturday 12th September - Friday 11th December

Half term Saturday 17th October - Friday 30th October

What should my child wear to class?

Uniform please but we request that your child comes as close to be ing 'ready to dance' as possible.  This might mean having full ballet kit on under a onesie and ballet shoes on but with large boots over the top to protect shoes outside. If tap shoes are worn in class and your child cannot tie laces we recommend using elastics instead of laces. Especially with baby ballet, Pre-Primary and Primary ballet and Tap please practise with your child getting ready into their dance kit.

How many students will be in each group?

Each venue has different maximum capacity which will allow for social distancing

The Village Centre - 8

St Cuthberts - 10

Bishopsgate School Studio - 12

Can my child make up a class he/she missed?

Unfortunately not. We are keeping small, consistent class groups.

Will children and teachers be required to wear face coverings?

The current guidance for children is to only wear a face covering if they wish.  As teachers we are confident that we can adequately socially distance to not need to wear face coverings but will continue to follow the guidance. The Village Centre require our teacers to wear a facecovering when not teaching soif dancing there your teacher will wear one for pick off and drop off.

Tell me about hand washing

Before entering any studio and leaving, all students will be required to clean hands with the sanitiser provided.

Can I watch my child in class?

Unfortunately not.  We wont be allowing any adults into the dance studios.

What if we go into lockdown and my classes cannot take place?

We will endeavour to run the course however the safety of our students and staff is our top priority and we will always follow government guidance. If the guidance changes and does not allow an in-person course, then you will be refunded the course fee for those days.

I have booked but my child no longer wants to attend.  Can I have a refund?

Unfortunately not. We are keen to be as transparent as possible about the dance classes this term and want to give you and your child as much information as possible to make a smooth return.  Please do not book a place if you think that your child might not want to come in.

How will you enforce social distancing?

Failure to
Failure to follow social distancing and hygiene rules

Students must remain in their booked session for the entirety of the course. Failure to follow social distancing and hygiene rules will result in students being excluded from the course with no refund.

When do we arrive?

Students must arrive on time; 5 minutes before class starts. Failure to arrive on time may mean you will have to wait until staff are able to collect your child. We will also require you to maintain social distance at drop off/pick up and follow signage.

If you are experiencing symptoms

No person or child is to come to class if experiencing symptoms of coronavirus/has been asked to self-isolate/ tested positive. You will be asked to verbally agree that you are well on behalf of your household each day.

You must agree to collect a student should their group need to close at short notice.

COVID-19 infection and need to self-isolate:

If a student has been asked to self-isolate or they or a member of their household shows symptoms of COVID-19 when they are due to attend a class, they will not be able to attend. In this instance we will refund your class fee upon verification such as test result or communications from the NHS Test and Trace programme.
