All participants will appear on Stage at least 3 times - in the Opening number, their Class dance and the Finale.

SHOW DAY

"Into the Spotlight"

 

Location: Sue Cormack Theatre, St. George's School, Wells Lane, Ascot, SL5 7DZ. 

 

Date: Sunday 3rd November

Times: 1.15pm & 3.45pm

Show Running time: 1 hour and 10 minutes approx. No interval.

Parking/Finding the Theatre: St George's School is a big site, and our parking is allocated in the Main Car park. Wells Lane is located off the mini roundabout at the bottom of Ascot High Street. When you enter Wells Lane follow the road round to the left, head past the main entrance to the school and follow signs for the main car park. You will need to drive through an electric gate (it opens automatically). You will immediately pass the Orchard car park on your left, continue straight ahead and you will shortly reach the Main Car park. There is a big Sports building/Swimming pool opposite the main parking area, and an overflow car park further on. To find the theatre follow the path up the slope, left past the blue dragon statue and you should see a sign for the Sue Cormack Theatre and a Charters Dance sign in post.

DRESS REHEARSAL

UPDATE:

Drop off times are as follows.

9.15am: Seniors and Inters

9.30am: Juniors

11.30am: Minis

 

If you are a Junior with a sibling in the Senior/Inter group then you can arrive with them. Unfortunately siblings in the Minis group cannot be in the Theatre before 11.30am due to regulations regarding maximum time allowed in the Theatre for this age group.

Please arrive ready with hair and make up done if possible. We advise students to wear a big t-shirt over the top of their costume. We advise that valuables stay at home as we cannot take responsibility for any lost items.

 

Please bring all costumes, hair and make up products as well as a packed lunch, plenty of snacks and drinks. No fizzy drinks or all NUT products including nutella/peanut butter. 

​

Students will be with us all day from their drop off time until the end of the second show. They will not be able to leave the theatre once they are with us.

 

Participants will be required the morning on Sunday 3rd November for a Tech/Dress Rehearsal. Participants will stay with us all day until the end of Show 2 - 5pm approx.

EXTRA REHEARSAL

Friday 1st November 9.30-1.30pm approx @ St. Cuthbert's.

UPDATE: Please note the location, as listed above the rehearsal will take place in the Studio at St Cuthbert's School. Students should wear their normal uniform and bring a drink. No costumes are required. If Senior Student Assistants are able to attend the Mini's rehearsal that would be helpful. They are welcome to hang around in the studio until their own rehearsal or go home in between.

​

There will be an additional rehearsal on the Friday of half term so students have the opportunity for a final practise before the big day, as normal classes will not be running this week. Students will be called in their age groups and overlap slightly to run the Opening & Finale with another group.

​

Minis (Tuesday & Thursday Primary classes): 9.15-10.15am

Juniors (Monday & Thursday Grade 2/3 Ballet, Junior Street Jazz & Theatre Jazz): 10am-11.15am

Inters (Grade 4 Ballet & Inter Street Jazz & Theatre Jazz): 11.15am-12.30pm

​

Seniors (Teen Ballet, Senior Street Jazz & Theatre Jazz): 12.15pm-1.45pm

PHOTO DAY

Sunday 20th October 9.30-1.30pm approx @ St. Cuthbert's.

Senior Group: 9.30am - 10.30am

Junior Group: 11.30am - 12.30pm

Please arrive in costume and with your hair and make up done. I will discuss with each class their hairstyle in classes this week and send this out on Tuesday.

 

We have a professional photographer coming to photograph students in their costumes. 

​

Individual and class shots will be taken. If Siblings would like a photograph together then I am happy to fit this in too.  â€‹

​

Parents are welcome to hang around if they wish.

COSTUMES

All costumes have been handed out - please bring these with you on show day.

In previous Shows, participants have always purchased their costumes so they can keep them after the show and we will be continuing this tradition. There will be one costume per class and students will also wear this for the opening and finale dances. If you child is in more than more class with us then they will have multiple costumes.

​

For those in Junior Theatre Jazz, Senior Street Jazz  - I am sourcing costumes differently for these numbers and there will only be a nominal hire charge of £5-10.

 

Costumes will cost between £25-40 per costume and you will be invoiced for these. We will keeps costs as low as possible. Girls will also require a pair of shimmer tights which will be included within their show fee. All participants will need the footwear they usually wear in class (e.g. ballet shoes/jazz shoes/trainers). â€‹

SHOW FEE

I am sure you can imagine the enormous costs that go into planning an event of this scale. In order to take part participants will be required to pay a £35.00 participation fee. (£50.00 total for siblings & £30.00 for boys.) This covers costs such as, but not limited to venue costs for our additional rehearsal and photo day, licensed chaperone costs, photographer, videographer and insurance.

Participants will receive a recording of the show (consent permitting), a commemorative medal and a pair of shimmer tights (girls only).

Please complete the following form to confirm your child/ren's participation in our show, and when you have completed the form please head to our online booking page to pay your show fee.

 

Once both your form and show fee have been received your child's participation in our show has been confirmed and I will order their costume. Costume fees will be sent via our normal invoice system for the exact cost price of the costume once they have been ordered.
